Carpet is still the most comfortable, quietest and most affordable way to finish bedrooms, lounges, stairs and upstairs living areas. It is also the flooring where installation quality shows fastest. A badly stretched carpet ripples within a year. A bad seam shows in low light forever. Cheap underlay flattens out and takes the carpet down with it.
We measure properly and plan the roll direction, so seams fall where you do not walk or look. We use good underlay, not the thinnest sheet that will pass. Then we power stretch the carpet so it stays flat.
We do everything from single bedrooms to full house recarpets. We also do rental turnarounds for property managers and investors who need a fast, tidy job between tenants.
Nothing else delivers the same comfort, warmth and acoustic control for the money.
Carpet and underlay cut noise between floors and hold heat in the room. That counts in a Melbourne winter, and in a double storey home.
It is the obvious choice for stairs, kids bedrooms and anywhere a slip matters. Carpeted stairs are far more forgiving than hard flooring.
Square metre for square metre, carpet is usually the lowest cost way to finish a large area properly, including underlay and installation.
Solution dyed nylon for stain resistance and durability, wool and wool blends for feel and recovery, polyester for softness and value. We will explain what each one actually does in your house.
Is your slab or timber subfloor a bit uneven? Carpet and underlay cope with that far better than any hard floor.
Most homes are measured one week and laid the next. A single room often takes a couple of hours.
The fibre, the pile style and the underlay matter more than the colour on the sample board. A carpet that is perfect in a spare bedroom will be a mistake in a hallway with two dogs and three kids.
We bring samples to your home and talk through the practical side.
Measured, planned and stretched properly so the floor still looks flat in five years.
1
We measure every room and plan the roll direction and seams. Then you get a fixed price. It covers underlay, installation and taking the old carpet away.
2
Existing carpet, underlay, smoothedge and staples lifted and taken away, and the subfloor checked and prepared.
3
New smoothedge fixed around the perimeter and quality underlay laid, joined and taped so it will not move underfoot.
4
Carpet power stretched, seams joined with heat bond tape, edges trimmed into doorways and stairs finished by hand.

Solution dyed nylon in a loop or tight twist pile is the workhorse. The colour is locked into the fibre, not painted on the surface. That means it resists fading and bleach style stains. Nylon also bounces back from crushing better than polyester in traffic lanes.
Wool feels better underfoot, recovers well from furniture indents, is naturally flame resistant and ages gracefully. It costs more and is less forgiving of certain stains than solution dyed nylon. In bedrooms and formal lounges it is often worth it, in a hallway with kids and pets nylon usually makes more sense.
It matters more than most people expect. Underlay carries the load and soaks up impact. It decides how the carpet feels and how long it keeps its look. Good carpet over cheap underlay wears out early. It is the most common corner cut in a low quote.
Yes, and we do a lot of them. Stairs are the hardest part of any carpet job, with every tread and riser cut and fitted by hand. We can do a full carpet, a runner with exposed timber either side, or carpet upstairs with timber below.
Yes. Our quotes include lifting the old carpet, underlay, smoothedge and staples and taking it all away. Just ask if you want us to leave it.
A single bedroom is usually a couple of hours. A typical three or four bedroom home is one day. We can normally measure one week and install the next, subject to stock on the carpet you choose.
Yes. We do rental turnarounds for property managers and investors. We also do offices, clinics and community spaces, where carpet tiles are often the better option.
